Early Release Days

Early Dismissal

The 18th and 19th will be early release days. On Monday, the18th students will be out of school at 1:PM. On Tuesday, the 19th students will get out of school at 11:16am.

Webber Elementary Principa l - Ms. Vanessa DeSantis , who has been an Assistant Principal at Johnson
Middle School since 2014, has been promoted to the position of Principal at Webber Elementary. Mrs.
DeSantis has 14 years of experience in education. She has also worked as a student leadership advisor,
English learner acquisition committee coordinator, choir director, fitness academy instructor and head
coach of track and field. She holds a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Concordia University
and a Bachelor of Arts from Cal State University-Sacramento. Congratulations Ms. DeSantis!

My Lu takes 2nd place in the Price of Freedom Art Contest


artwork submitted by 7th and 8th grade students from all three WSD middle schools.

Artwork entries were creative, skillfully interpreted the theme and demonstrated strong student artisanship. It was a challenge to select only four winners since there were many unique and skilled artwork entries. The judges who participated in the selection of the winners included Trustee Frances Nguyen, Myrlene Pierre, Trish Montgomery, and six members of the Vietnam Veterans of America – Chapter 756-Long Beach. The contest winners will receive cash prizes and trophies sponsored by Golden Trophy.

Third Place: Amy Do (Grade 7 at Stacey MS) $200
